Protect Konica Minolta bizhub MFPs from Unauthorized Breaches of Documents and Data
bizhub SECURE Alert provides an all-inclusive MFP security to notify organizations when a document or data security breach occurs.
Know Who Used The MFP For What and When
Nearly all multifunction printers (MFPs) have a security risk. Organizations don’t know who used the MFP for what and when. This leaves them potentially liable for data breaches that occur at their MFPs. Data breaches at the MFP may expose an organization’s important trade secrets and intellectual property information as well as customer, patient, and employee data. Konica Minolta bizhub MFPs don’t have this security risk. Select Konica Minolta bizhub MFPs offer an additional level of document and data security.
Industries requiring added MFP security include:
- Government
- Healthcare
- Education
- Finance & Banking
- Legal
- R&D
bizhub SECURE Alert Protects Your Confidential Data
bizhub SECURE Alert creates a record of any bizhub MFP user activity: copy, print, scan, fax, and email. This record contains both the MFP user and device data of the bizhub MFP activity. Activity records are accessible only by permitted users.
bizhub SECURE Alert also provides real-time alerts in the event of a data breach at the MFP. The user predefines the data and keywords that constitute such a breach. An automatic email notification is sent to user-designated personnel when bizhub SECURE Alert detects a breach alert. The bizhub SECURE Alert provides the specific who, what, when, and where of such a data breach.
Customize with Your Keywords & Data
Each organization can define temporary or permanent data and keywords that constitute a breach. Keywords and data patterns can be entered singly or batch-imported.
Data Patterns include:
- Social security numbers
- Credit card & Patient numbers
- Phone numbers & dates
- IDs of patients, students, employees, & others
- Email addresses & URLs
- Much more
Keywords include:
- Name of patients, students, employees, and others
- Product or trade names
- Compliance terms
- Discrimination terms and phrases
- Disparaging phrases
- Much more
How bizhub SECURE Alert Works
bizhub SECURE Alert is powered by DocRecord, an application that automatically processes Konica Minolta MFP activity records. This MFP activity record, Image Log Transfer File (ILTF), is an inherent part of select Konica Minolta bizhub MFPs. The ILTF records all user MFP activity information: copies, prints, scans, emails, and faxes. The ILTF provides both a data file and a text-searchable PDF of the document of this activity. This data set (activity data file and PDF) is then provided to DocRecord which OCRs (optical character recognition) the documents and then automatically categories and archives them.
DocRecord provides a full-management interface for bizhub SECURE Alert allowing the user to easily manage MFPs, keywords, breach alerts, and much more. Authorized users can access bizhub SECURE Alert by DocRecord through an internet browser. The activity records are instantly available and documents can be easily and quickly previewed and retrieved.
